Australian trumpet player and composer Cam McAllister has been a regular fixture on the Australian jazz scene for many years, both as a leader of his own bands and also as a sideman in some of Australia's premier jazz ensembles. Cam has performed with, among many others: Gordon Brisker Quintet (USA/Sydney), Alice Cooper, Roger Daltrey, Hugh Jackman, John Cleese, Petula Clark, Ronnie Corbett, Natalie Imbruglia, Jimmy Barnes, Peter Frampton, Jeff Usher's Jazz Unit (Brisbane), Jamie Oehlers, Ian Chaplin, Mark Fitzgibbon Quintet, Musikkii Oy, Joe Camillerri and the Jazzheads, the Bamboo's, Melbourne Jazz Orchestra, Bennett's Lane Big Band, Rumberos and Los Cabrones.
In addition to live performing, Cam has also played trumpet on many television advertisements and films, most recently recording with John Foreman for a short film.
Cam's main passion however is writing his own music and performing with his band, the Cam McAllister Quintet. In August 2007 they independantly released their debut album entitled "Libran Balance" (cam001) which has been highly praised through it's extensive exposure on National radio stations.
